Mini Handball is fun and inclusive, meaning children of all abilities can play and be part of the team. Here we explain the core principles of the game and how it’s played.
As the name suggests, Mini Handball and handball are played solely with hands, with no heading, or kicking allowed.
When in possession of the ball, players move up the court by passing between team mates. When a player has the ball, they can also take a maximum of 3-steps before needing to release the ball for a shot or pass. Dribbling isn’t allowed, and if a player takes more than three steps while having the ball, the other team receive a free throw.
When court players approach the goal, they need to remain outside of the goalkeeping area, if they stand in it, the other team get a free throw.
Court players cannot pass to their goal keeper when the goalkeeping is inside their area. In addition, court players can’t pick up the ball inside of the goal keepers D.
Goals are scored by throwing the ball into the opposition’s net with there usually being many goals in each game.
